About The Actor's Lounge
The Actor’s Lounge is a space for you to explore the beautiful craft of acting.
We are a welcoming community that loves to play, learn, grow with each other, and most of all have fun doing so!
Our focus is on creating generous actors who support one another in the work we do.
Whether you want to be a professional actor or it’s something you’ve always wanted to do but never had the chance till now – there’s a class for you!
- For complete beginners, we provide you with a toolbox of technique that helps you build and create any character and we create a safe and supportive environment for you to build your confidence both on and off the stage.
- For aspiring professionals, we can help with all aspects of the industry from choosing photographers for headshots, compiling your showreel, approaching agents to where to get that all important first experience.
- For professionals, we fine tune the skills you already have and give you the tools in order to deepen your craft and also give you the confidence to trust your instincts.
- For those that just want to come and be with like-minded people and acting is their hobby, we have fun yet challenging classes that you’ll love!
There is no “one shoe fits all” at The Actor’s Lounge, we understand that every actor is different and we are experts in understanding what you personally need to hone your technique and connect to any character.
Since opening in Canterbury in Sep 2021, The Actor's Lounge now has five schools running across the UK.
We can’t wait to see you there!
Abigail Boyd: Coaching Novice Actors and Award Winning Stars
Hi, I’m Abigail and I’m a professional actress, acting coach and founder of The Actor’s Lounge.
I trained at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama and trained with world-renowned teachers such as Patsy Rodenburg, Jeanette Nelsen and Ken Rae. I have worked as an actress for over 20 years, I have owned my own production company which had a TV series commissioned by ITV and I have coached stage, TV and film actors around the world.
I am passionate about creating for my students a supportive, encouraging, and professional rehearsal space in which they can explore, play and learn a multitude of acting techniques for stage and screen. Whether you’re a beginner or a professional, I’m dedicated to discovering exactly what my students need as an individual to discover their full potential for their craft.
I'm so excited that due to the outstanding success of TAL Canterbury, Eastbourne and Norwich, we have now opened in Colchester and Cambridge with a team of incredibly talented teachers.
I look forward to working with you!
