A lot of the work we do in class is around group participation so it’s important that there is regular attendance and a commitment to the course. However, we understand that life happens and sometimes students can’t attend and as long as they give their course leader notice, it is ok.

TAL tutors are always happy to help our students to navigate the industry and give advice on all aspects of how to take the first steps to becoming a professional actor. Many TAL students, some who were complete beginners before they joined us, now have agents and are working in the industry.

Nope – Just yourself! All the materials will be provided. Some of our students like to make notes and/or highlight their scripts so please feel free to bring a notebook and pen but this is not a requirement.

Comfortable clothing you can move in and flat shoes.

You will have some great and engaging scripts to work on and we encourage you to learn your lines between classes. Occasionally additional work on characters will be assigned outside of the class and you can go into as much depth as you like.

All classes are 7pm – 9.30pm and take place on a weekday evening. The day of the week depends on the level of course and location.

There are 10 sessions per term (with a week break halfway through for half term). All terms end with a showcase evening on the Saturday evening following the last lesson to which you can invite your friends and family to share the work you’ve done throughout the term.

Any TAL student who completes 6 terms over the space of three years will automatically become Spotlight eligible.
